Thankful to be Home!

After over 30 hours of safe travel, we are thankful to be home! What a wonderful time we had visiting family and friends in California. Playing games, eating too much and lots of busy conversation were among our favorite things to do! Being ALL together as a family, I believe, is one of life's best moments. Here are a few pictures of our visit. Family members include my Grandma Ruby (who just celebrated her 85th birthday), my aunt Linda, her son Matt and fiancee Amy, my parents Glenn and Carolyn, my sister Karla and her two boys Talon and Trent and our family. You may notice something different about Michael. Seeing him again only confirmed how much of a man he is now, all grown up. I guess this was "no shave" month at Ozark and so Michael grew his facial hair. I thought he looked very good!!!! I am very thankful for God's goodness in the gift of family!

What do you use your stairs for?

Isn't this what stairs were made for?

We are busy packing for a week of Thanksgiving fun as we head to California for a "Kirby" reunion. A time to celebrate my Grandma Ruby's 85th birthday is sure to be one of the highlights! My parents home is going to be filled to the brim with family life as we all gather to treasure this holiday season. Another highlight is going to be meeting up with Michael!!!! Then, we head home to, Lord willing, the closing of our new home. Packing and moving are just around the corner. We'll do our best to keep you updated with pictures. Praying you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving week! There's so much to be thankful for!

Bowling

Kaylee and Casey went bowling this past weekend. Since Casey was taking the pictures, I didn't get any pictures of him but I he did get this video of Kaylee getting a spare! Looks like fun!

Another First...

His first boo-boo! Crawling over legos somehow managed to give him a small cut. He actually had a little blood so"momma Wesley" ran to get him a band-aid. He wasn't sure what he thought of it but I think he liked all the attention! We didn't mind giving it to him either:)!

Wedding Family Picture

These pictures were taken by a lady in our church the day of Scott's first wedding (well, the first one he performed:). I thought the family one turned out great, if only Michael were in it! We'll try to take an updated one in November!

Frogs in warm water?

A small family outing to Walterville pond last week created hours of imagination and play. While there, Casey caught 4 frogs and gave them to the littles. They had sooo much fun "mothering" these little frogs. I overheard them talking about all that they were going to teach them and show them. We kept them in an aquarium outside. One cozy morning amidst the frost, we awoke to find four little froggies swimming under a layer of frozen water. We brought the aquarium inside and Wesley took over adding warm water to break up the ice. She then placed warm water in this little leaf and put all the frogs together to keep warm. What amazed me was how long those frogs stayed together. I guess mommy always knows best:)

Casey and Mesa built a fort while Kaylee and I were on the retreat! Looks like fun!

This and That...

This has been the longest since I have posted yet. I guess I have been tuckered! Scott and I counted up that he took 4 major road trips in a weeks time... to Sisters for a family outing, Portland the next day to pick up Ken and Carol, Newport for our church marriage retreat and then Scott, Kaylee and Casey headed to Boise to pick up some old "friends." The Lord opened the door for us to buy back our Golden Retrievers that we had to sell before moving here. It was completely the Lord who opened the door for us bring them here to Oregon. Our home is still in escrow awaiting an appraisal but we did find out that our loan was approved.

In the time since my last posting, my father-in-law suffered an eye injury while on a father/son fishing trip with one of Scott's brothers. We are believing in the Lord's healing hand and protection as he has had one surgery and will need at least one more. We would love for you to keep him in your prayers! Wesley felt an immediate bond with him as she knew just what he was going through.

Kaylee and I enjoyed a weekend of refreshment as we attended an Above Rubies Retreat! It was very encouraging and we greatly enjoyed our weekend together!

This little video was taken of our little Mesa. She was playing with her little dolls when we overheard kissing. Upon further investigation, she proudly proclaimed that mommy and daddy were kissing. Casey ran to get the camera to capture this moment. Please note, we did not tell her to do this. I guess it's better to have her dolls kissing than fighting with one another:) She's just a hopeless romantic like me:)!
