The Story Behind the Camera

Not too long after our move to Oregon, we discovered that one of the ladies in our church enjoyed photography. As a side comment, I mentioned that Casey was interested as well. She quickly offered to let Casey borrow her "old" camera. God is so good! Here we are in a new state, meeting new friends and God meets a real need in Casey and Kaylee with the simple gift of a borrowed camera. Kaylee is enjoying experimenting as well and some of the recent photos were taken by her. God is amazing to meet our every need. Here uncle Aaron catches Casey capturing the moment!

Just roll with it!

After some debate in our home, it just seemed too selfish to not share this picture with you! Don't you just love all those baby rolls?

Peek-a-boo

Peek-a-boo...with her birthday quickly approaching, we are enjoying our final days of our one year old Mesa! Has anyone found the secret to stop time?

Humble Pie

Since my last post, we had a visit from some special friends. Sometime during our late night chatter, we began a discussion about injuries on trampolines. With some hesitation, I shared of our absense of any serious injuries in our 10 years of ownership. I informed her that I would post any injuries on this blog, of course thinking that day was somehow far away, in a distant future. Little did I know THAT far away day was soon going to hit reality literally as Wesley's eye met Casey's knee yesterday afternoon. Symptoms of a concussion began immediately under the watchful eye of her mommy and daddy. With the symptoms clearly more than normal, we headed to the ER. After a ct scan and doctor observation, she was cleared to head home with no major injury, simply a concussion. Praise God! Please keep Wesley Ann in your prayers today as she is still very weak and experiencing the normal symptoms of nausea, double vision and fatigue. Scott took the other kiddos to the beach so that Wesley, Benjamin and I could rest! Who would have thought my next post would be humble pie:)!

Be the First to See...

We wanted you to be the first to see it! He's on his knees, rocking back and forth as if preparing for take off! His baby days are numbered as he has his eyes set on becoming a little boy! We once again marveled at the first attempts of this wee little one to stretch farther than ever before for the goal...that toy just out of reach. Many attempts were made to limit his success as we are counting the days for big brother Michael to come and see for himself! Hurry, Michael, hurry! He just can't wait!

Singing in the Rain!

In July! It's not supposed to rain in July but still fun to sing in!

A Special Birthday!

What a joy to celebrate another year of life of the "papa" in our home! When asked how he would like to spend his birthday, a family outing was requested. We gladly accepted! We discovered the cutest little town in Sisters, Or.! Casey and Scott were able to bike a little and we all enjoyed his lunch of choice...bar-b-cue! We are so thankful for his life and sacrificial leadership in our home!

Benjamin River - 7 months (almost)

One Handsome Fellow...

Yes, We Are Duck Fans!

One thing is sure of the Springfield/Eugene area, we have Duck Fans! Since our move here, there have been many attempts to convert us to being a Duck or Beaver fan. (Names of the local college sports teams) I keep telling them, we have always been duck fans. I'm not sure we're speaking the same language though:) Here is a picture of Casey's new ducks. We are all enjoying them! Yes, we are duck fans!

Another Family Day at the Beach

"All we're doing is sitting"...Sierra's thoughts on our two hour drive to the beach. Although we had an overcast day, we enjoyed the beautiful play day at the beach. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

Dear Sierra Grace,

Since your arrival, you have added so much to our home...laughter, fun, energy and much prayer asking the Lord how to direct your world changing heart to impact those around you for Jesus! You have a very sensitive heart often wondering where your place is. May you always remember that your place is right here next to me in a family where you belong! Only in Jesus will you find a meaningful adventure that will last for all of eternity! We love you and pray God's blessing on another year of life!

Sierra Grace turns 4!

A day with Family

What a wonderful visit we had with Scott's brother Aaron and family! In fact, these are pictures from his camera! Although we were busy with lots of littles underfoot, we were privileged to have a beautiful day together at Shotgun Creek park. The day couldn't have been any better. It began with a gloomy overcast mood but Scott seized the moment with a cozy campfire that later roasted our hot dog lunch. The boys hunted water bugs in the creek, the girls played make believe using the sand tools as kettles to gather soup and the littles shoveled to their hearts content. But my favorite part was the awesome sand volleyball court that held countless hours of healthy competition between us 6 "big kids!" I'm really not sure who had more fun, us or the kids! Even the sun later decided that he wanted to come too! What a great visit! Thanks for making the effort to come, Aaron and Ami! Would love for you all to come for a visit also!

Only Room for a King!

The Lord recently blessed us with a new to us King size bed! Sleepless nights and quietly squeaking to bed became our evening ritual. "Mid-night" nursing often resulted in parental frustration after I would lay the baby back down and try to slip into bed only to awaken the baby again with our squeaky box spring that got jarred in our recent move. I had to giggle though when I rolled out of bed recently and discovered Benjamin had taken over our bed! I had nursed him in the early morning and never put him back to bed! I guess there is more than just Scott and I sleeping more peacefully now!

A Day to Celebrate Freedom!

I know, I know... truth be told, Casey was having so much fun celebrating, there was no time to waste persuading him to grab his camera. My camera and photo ability are explanation in and of itself about Casey's eye for capturing the moment. Casey wasn't the only one having fun though! Our whole family enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship and encouragement as we celebrated our freedom with new friends. As the days and months in 2011 roll by, our prayer is that God will uplift the faithful few who continue to fight for our country's freedom! Hope you enjoyed your 4th of July as well!
