12 Stone Project

12 Stones is a project that the Lord laid on Scott's heart for connecting the generations in our church. The older generation has journeyed longer through life and holds valuable insight into what God has taught them through the years. The younger generation has abandoned energy to live a life sold out for Christ (if they have the vision) and the middle generation walks in the balance of energy and growing wisdom as they learn the ways of God. Yet each generation is tempted to walk alone, overwhelmed by the task of speaking the language of the different generation. Joshua 4: 1 talks about taking 12 stones from the middle of the Jordan River and and building a sign, a reminder to tell the next generation about what the Lord had done while crossing the Jordan with the ark of the covenant. In our church, Scott has encouraged the older generation to pass down their "stones" to the next generation by writing out, telling, capturing on video, etc. the things that the Lord has done or taught them in their life to then pass on to the next generation. It has been well received and we are enjoying the many testimonies that have been trickling in from the older generation. Then our heart is to find ways to connect that to the next generation. While we were at the lake, Scott found some stones that he was able to gather as a visual for the 12 stones project. Casey then took some pictures and made this visual for Scott. I hope to be able to share some here as we create different video and letters containing the testimony of God's faithful work in the lives of His people.
